Jeff Placer sends along these photos of Store No. 247 in Ridgway, Pa. He writes:
”I love checking out the photos and memories of the Murphy stores. It was a wonderful time in my life.
“I started at No. 19 in Sistersville, W.Va., and went through the management programs at Washington, Pa., Effingham, Ill., Berwyn, Ill., and finally and lastly, at Ridgway, Pa., as store manager.
“There will never be another ‘Murphy’s’...or the ‘five-and-10’ as I remember knowing it as growing up. It’s a time lost ... but the memories are still there and vibrant.
“Thanks so much for keeping the website and keeping the Murphy flame alive.”
